Berry cracking is a common table-grape disorder resulting from pre- or postharvest exposure to excessive moisture. “We know that water on the berry can move through the skin and cause the berry to swell and burst,” says Dr Justin Lashbrooke. “Cracking occurs when the skin integrity fails.”
