About SAFJ

Since the establishment of the Fruit South Africa Promotion Campaign, the need for a unifying industry communication tool arose.

The Deciduous Fruit Board established Die Sagtevrugteboer in the late 1950s.

The Fruit South Africa Promotion Campaign then identified the need for a unifying industry communication tool. So, Fruit South Africa was established in 2000, to represent the entire fruit industry of SA.

Then the South African Fruit Journal/Suid-Afrikaanse Vrugtejoernaal was launched in June 2002 to publish the outputs of the different sectors within the fruit industry (i.e. deciduous fruit, citrus, table grapes and export). The magazine features dedicated sections for the different fruit sectors as well as market, industry and research news.
