Alhoewel verpligte vereistes vir tafeldruifhantering na deregulasie weggeval het, het die eertydse riglyne steeds waarde vir produsente.
Voor deregulasie was die Sagtevrugte-raad en Unifruco die alleenuitvoerders van Suid-Afrikaanse tafeldruiwe en het hulle dus die tegniese riglyne vir tafeldruifhantering voorgeskryf.

Weltevrede
“In die laaste 10 jaar wat ek hier is, was daar nog nie een jaar of een blok waar ek kan sê droogte ’n effek op die produksie of kwaliteit van ons oes gehad het nie,” vertel Recardo Vrey, produksiebestuurder by Arborlane Landgoed se Weltevrede-plaas in die Koue Bokkeveld.
Weltevrede het ongeveer 86 hektaar appel- en peerboorde. “Een van die groot uitdagings hier is water,” sê Vrey. “Ons water kom bo uit die berg – ons is uit-en-uit afhanklik van reën.”

HLB Safe System for citrus-tree production in nurseries
Huanglongbing (HLB), or Asian Citrus Greening, is caused by the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, which is mostly spread by the insect vector Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP), Diaphorina citri. As a well-publicised example, HLB has destroyed >80% of the US Florida citrus industry, where growers did not strictly follow the best-practice control measures.
